Other Qualifications:

  • Applicants should be enrolled in or graduated from (degree, diploma or certificate) a natural resource discipline (Forestry, Environment Sciences, Biology, Ecology, etc.) program or GIS / Geomatics program or equivalent combination of education and experience;

  • Eligible for registration, or registered in a regulated professional association;

  • Directly related experience in the natural resource sectors of Alberta;

  • Knowledge of Canadian and Alberta guidelines and documents, such as the Canada Water Act, Species at Risk Act, provincial Operating Ground Rules, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, Enhanced Approval Process, Remediation Certificate Regulation, Forest Act, Timber Management Regulations, Alberta Wetland Policy, Public Lands Act, etc.;

  • Strong commitment to providing high quality, innovative and practical customer service with dedication to technical excellence;

  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills essential to developing and maintaining productive client and work relationships;

  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time, delivering projects on time and within budget;

  • Excellent analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Possess solid capabilities in word processing, spreadsheet, GPS and GIS software's;

  • Valid driver’s license;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

  • Recent safety training certification in First Aid; WHMIS; Defensive Driving, Bear Awareness and ATV/Snowmobile Rider Safety, are to be considered assets;
